Where to buy bulbs?

For the last few years I bought almost all my bulbs from Wilko online, they were cheap and always performed great. Any recommendations on affordable shops (ideally online) to buy bulbs?

I would go with a wholesaler like Gee Tee - buying in bulk is so much cheaper

Farmer Gracy perhaps. 20% off all tulip bulbs if you're quick.

Sarah Raven is particularly good for tulips and unusual plants you can't get elsewhere. There is a 30% discount on spring bulbs today.

    Year long 15% code  GIL23YR

Gee Tee 15%  discount code this year GW23SUB

  • I'd be a wee bit careful with Gee Tee Bulbs.  I wasn't overly impressed with their Snowdrops ( in the green ) or Woodland anemones some 6 or 7 years ago.  Not to say they haven't improved since then but ........ ?

Chelsea designer Bunny Guinness uses Gee Tee as her main wholesale bulb and tuber supplier and finds them great. I have used them for about ten years and I like them a lot. The staff are very helpful.
  • I use Peter Nyssen and am never disappointed.

I once bought tulips from Sarah Raven but they all had blight. Once bitten twice shy.

Just ordered some spring bulbs  this morning from Sarah Raven didn't give me the chance to use the any code although it was advertised as @Fire mentions. It was only a small order so I thought that might be why? Paid full price but went ahead as I wanted good quality bulbs.
Ah just found out think you need to buy some of the expensive garden junk they can't sell to qualify.
Forty Fritillaria meleagris £11.95 Sarah Raven or twenty five Peter Nyssen for £8.00 didn't check postage but nothing in it.

No, it should be fine to add just the code. You can only use one code at a time. You add it to the 'discount voucher' box

I do find people on this forum spend an an inordinate amount of time slagging off good companies and plants. We are in the business of offering options to readers, not shutting them down. Sarah Raven, Nyssen, Gee Tee, Famer Gracy, Avon bulbs, they are all fine and offer different options. Whether I had a SR raven that didn't come up ten years ago is neither here nor there.
