Is English not your 1st. language, @war garden 572?
How can you lie there and think of England
When you don't even know who's in the team

1,000 vegetable garden plans. Must be SO interesting at parties
    Devon.
  • I'd guess most gardeners are too busy gardening and don't have the time, energy or inclination to enter paper competitions.
Plenty of local/national Flower and Produce shows take place in the UK and as @februarysgirl rightly points out, I'd say we've probably got the hang of it by now.
I think it may be time for Sailing By on this thread  ;)

Will a Sleepy Lagoon do until Sailing By?

    🤔 Plant … seems appropriate 😉

  • I also meant to ask if anyone can remember what came before Sailing By ? Mid 80's/ late 90's maybe ? Same time as Brian someone was doing the Today programme.  Can't even bring to mind his surname never mind the SF music  :(

  • Thanks @Dovefromabove I can't make that link work but you are probably right. I just remember always looking forward to it much as I do Sailing By.
I do recall contacting the BBC in 2005 or 6 to ask them whether there was a recording available of Sailing By because my French neighbours were keen sailors but had never heard of the Shipping Forecast and I thought they would enjoy it.  The answer was No - shame really.
