      Garibaldi was a working class hero in the UK as well as in his home country. It was a mark of his popularity that Peek Frean’s made the biscuit to commemorate his visit to South Shields in 1854.

    I like Toad in the Hole ad being a bit frenchie like to toss the toads around in beurre maitre d'hôtel first!!  Can't get fly cemeteries here but if you have eaten at the school canteen then you will know what Toenail Stew is!!   I like it!!
    A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

    I sometimes make cheat's  toad. Sausages and bought Yorkshire puddings. Dreadful,I know but tastes OK . Not as good as the real thing, though.
