My problem with earworms is that most normal people have them for a few hours, even a day... Mine can last for months! If I return to the task where the worm was, it comes back! In work this very nearly got me murdered every Friday, and Monday, sometimes even Thursday.

I will share my cure for earworms. It sometimes takes several applications
Every time an earworm comes into my head, I replace it with a few lines from ' an English country garden ''  How many insects come here and go etc.
It works for me and doesn't turn into one itself.
Maybe some innocuous but awful ditty  would work for you

  • They reckon the cure for an earworm is to sing the song to the end, then it's done and you no longer have the chorus just going round in your head. That does of course presuppose that you know all the words.......
No longer newish but can't think of a new name so will remain forever newish.  B)

It's always a couple of lines with lyrics.
How do you manage with pieces likeRavels Bolero or Night on a Bare Mountain   or The Flying Dutchman when there's no words but chunks of them are waiting for you when you wake in the morning.😟  ?

The worst earworm cure is to start a rival tune which goes round and round...  "Do ye ken John Peel", or "A mouse lived in a windmill in old Amsterdam", are cures only to be used in desperation - or they end up circulating permanently in the background.

Actually, I rather like the fact that my head is almost always full of music trying to get out.   :)

That's the trouble @Liriodendron. Mine do get out. They drive everybody else nuts as well! 🤣

Don’t mind the ones in my head getting out … it’s the other ones trying to get in that cause the problems 😂

Thread titles are infested with earworm triggers.
Look at this page and you're 'quite likely ' to find one. Or is it quite rightly?

I’ve gone from this one to Lemon Tree now.
Lemon Tree very pretty and the lemon flowers sweet.....
It’s  funny how a thread title will turn into a song.
