Replying to posts

Please can someone tell me how to acknowledge members who answer my posts so that they know that I have responded to their help.
I am assuming that when the member's name appears in pink they have  been notified that someone has replied to them. So how do I do this?
Many thanks

If you type @ and then begin typing the name, @TigerFeet, a little box will appear with names of forum members beginning with those letters, and you can choose the one you want.   :)
(Edited to say: you choose the one you want by clicking on it!)

Alternatively you can just click on the Like 👍icon then the OP can see you've seen their response.

    That's right,that's right,that's right, that's right....
  • @TigerFeet just as a background: using the @ sign forces the sending of an email to the recipient in any closed community like a forum or company. If you exchange your idea with a colleague and add @anothername, then that colleague would also receive your mail. But this only works inside an organisation

The @ sign only sends an email if the recipient sets it that way,  I don’t get them,  I just look in each day and read the posts I’ve commented on.

As Lyn says you won’t get an email unless you’ve enabled it in your Settings. Rather than emails I’ve enabled Pop Ups which means that I get a quick message pop on the screen when I’m active on the board, rather than loads of emails clogging up my inbox.
However I do get emails alerting me to Private Messages.
