When she was young @WonkyWomble used to get her terminology a bit confused … for several months she went through a phase of whinging “Mummy, I’m boring” … I would agree and carry on with what I was doing … she soon got the hang of building a camp in the hedgerows for herself and some animals. 😂
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Didn’t dare mentioned you were bored years ago, I would be sent to the shops, presented with a duster and a tin of Lavendo, plenty of things to do to prevent being bored, it was best not mentioned.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
It always seemed to me that the whole point of the summer holidays would be so children would be bored and therefore quite glad to go back to school. That may have been growing up in rainy Cornwall where summer holidays are usually wet more days than not

I don't have family here except OH but I have friends, few, but good. I do get bored but usually boredom goes together with a bit of unhappiness around some issue like a health worry. I can't do things if I am worried about something so I usually pick up a book or take refuge in music and am often looking at stuff on the Potting Shed. Like many of you I was never entertained when young, nor my parents ever worried about me being bored. I am very thankful that I own a garden.
It's an interesting question to ask here on a gardening forum. The weather this weekend has been very wet, but I can always find tasks indoors. @war garden 572, what do you do when bored?
I just finalized 50 more pages of garden book i am writing and found 75 more pre 1960 vegetable gardening articles. also 40 ww1 articles on ration cookery and 57 more articles on ww2 ration cooking. I also found 5 more magazine sources that I have go through at main branch library this has to be done manually and in person I also sent 15 emails to various people related to different research projects. That is what I did when I was bored during the 5 hour heavy rain storm a few days ago.
