I'm never bored, always something to do, a book to read, a garden to weed or plant or prune, family to chat to on the phone. I'm lucky.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I don’t think I’ve ever been bored … when we were children we were expected to amuse ourselves and it was a skill that’s stood me in good stead. Years ago a friend said she had to arrange so many activities for her children in the summer to stop them being bored … I said that it’s not until they get bored that they find what interests them and learn to amuse themselves. She recently told me it was one of the best pieces of advice she’d ever been given.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • I take the time to listen to music, read, do sudoku, and, at times, search e-bay to find any vintage postcards or prints or engravings of British castles. I rarely buy them, but put them on my "watch" list, until they disappear.

I even took the opportunity to clean the lounge bay windows the other day, while my wife was out, but later she commented that they were really dirty and needed a good clean. I didn't have the heart to inform her I'd cleaned them, because she would (quite rightly) berate me for going up a ladder when no-one was around.

Maybe I should return to my sudoku!!

I wish I had the time to be bored!
  • I never feel bored.
I can put my feet up and cogitate about whatever, read, bake, garden, snooze ec., etc., etc.

The only times I get bored are when I'm waiting for a train or sitting on a train, so usually read a book or listen to music or sleep

The only times I get bored are when I'm on somebody else's schedule and unable to do much else. Waiting at an airport, in a ferry queue, waiting for OH at kart meetings etc (he'd say the same when he's waiting at a GC or an historic church). Even then I usually have a phone, iPad or e-reader with me which relieves the situation somewhat.

When I'm on my own time there are hobbies plus so many things on the 'To-Do' list and so many enjoyable time-wasting activities (online jigsaws, trashy TV, puzzles, old films) to indulge that I can honestly say I'm hardly ever bored.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
