I got it today. I'm allowing the ads for now but I shall ignore them (cookies etc are blocked). If they get too intrusive I'll have a re-think as to whether I want to stay on here.

I just got the first 'We see you are using an ad blocker' message. I clicked on the main window and carried on to post this. Obviously don't know yet if it will now keep repeating.

Using Firefox on Linux on a laptop.

Are people who aren't using an adblocker (eg: me) still getting a message of some kind? I don't see any ads on my phone. I might on my laptop but I can't remember, it's so rare for me to use the site on there. If they are there, they haven't entered my consciousness.

I use Chrome and have an adblocker, but I don't get any messages about it on this site.

I also never sign out, I keep the forum as a permanent bookmark on my laptop. I don't know if that makes any difference.
Very occasionally, and that's usually after an update or something, I've been signed out by the high heid yins, and I just sign in then [my details are saved so it's just one click] but that's about it.

@Fairygirl the bit about not Signing Out occurred to me too. I never bother to sign out.
I use Chrome on a laptop and think I have an Ad blocker but so far, I've never received any request/demand to allow ads on this site.
That'll probably change tho in the next 5 mins  ;)

I don't recollect ever buying anything after seeing an ad. But I do look at supermarkets junk mail for discounts on products I would buy anyway. Recently though even the junk mail here has dwindled to almost zero (and a good thing too).

@coccinella My postbox is is a metal box sited on the front garden wall.  It is a haven  for snails which regularly have a nibble and then nip off to hide in the Hollyhocks growing along the outside of the wall.
They seem to attack the junk mail first and then move on to the demands for money but they often leave the local Parish Magazine alone.  Community minded Snails ?

Spookily, there are hardly any ads today ( no ad blocker) unless they're taking so long to load, I've moved on before anything is visible.

Every month or so, I clear my all cookies and browsing history on Safari, and have to sign in again on the forum. I always refuse cookies, and object to ‘legitimate interest’. Have not seen any ads on my iPad.
