No @barry island - we don't. [did you mean Gardeners World rather than Beechgrove in your post though?] We also seem to be able to understand lots of accents around England and beyond without any problem.

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I suspect the new presenters we've seen at Beechgrove mean that options are limited for Kirsty to contribute so housplants are a good option. She's well qualified but seems notto have a graden of her own and limited scope on her wee allotment.
Fine by me as houseplants are of great importance to people with no garden space and have health benefits as well as beauty to offer.

Apologies @barry island - I didn't think you meant any harm. Think we've been at cross purposes! There were a couple of comments by people a while ago, about other programmes made in Scotland, with Scottish actors, including one who actually hails from Shetland [there's the clue] and they claimed they couldn't understand what they were saying. It made me quite angry, but I didn't comment as I would have been banned. It wasn't as if it was Rab C. Nesbitt that was on!

Thankyou @Simone_in_Wiltshire I checked iPlayer just after I thought it should have started and did not see it on there - I must have checked too early. Will catch up this week as would like to hear about the sorbus particularly and everything generally!
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus

My parents used to put the subtitles on for Rab C. Nesbitt
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
I love Rab C. Nesbitt @Fairygirl .... and I'm from Liverpool. But I've lived in Scotland for over 3 decades so I think I've got the hang of most Scottish accents. Also loved Still Game .... genius.

I have a friend in Belgium, originally from Glasgow, and still with a strong accent despite leaving there over 50 years ago. When she's excited I have great difficulty understanding her in English, French or Flemish!
