Elizabeth looks so pretty there, @Oliya. I am not tempted (fortunately) because apart from that depth of pinkness it looks too similar to Emily Brontë, which oddly lasts really well on the bush and in the vase and has a wonderful constant scent.
I like Jubilee Celebration, Alfie, partly because of the scent (tinned peaches) and partly because it looks so distinctive- petal formation and colour. But it is maddeningly floppy in year one and I am totally fed up with staking the individual blooms (will get better by year three apparently but in the meantime it's too irritating). I'm talking obelisk + clips + bamboo if I want to see the flower! Probably won't take it when we move. I am more smitten with e.g. Princesse Charlène de Monaco, Dee-Lish and Boscobel, whose lovely upright pink blooms are proudly visible from the other end of the garden. And all are at least as fragrant.
More rose threads can only be a good thing, @Marlorena!
@WAMS, Jubilee Celebration didn't get better even after 3 years for me. I use flowers for vase and prune the floppy stem afterwards. I also have a dahlia support ring around it. But it might be a good candidate for standard as flowers are like fuschia, upside down!
@Alfie_ I was referring to the stories of Lady Emma H. being sold as gold dust. I don't think selling one "used" rose, even if it was still under patent, is forbidden. That's what a second hand platform is all about. My Chandos is a standard, planted in the ground. It does produce this huge blooms that require the stiff stems which I do not like on a standard. Can't have your cake and eat it.
Fenced gaura allows Ballade to breath again. And kindly produce a second bloom. Calling that a flush would be highly exaggerated.
@Nollie this is for you. Can't remember if you got Vichy or intended to get it. Relocation from well fed potted live to the ground has been forgiven, finally.
The Général is still working on getting its roots down. Or what else might keep it from growing upright and stiff, like a true soldier?
The eadable Renée. Great colour, floriferous, yummy if not very strong scent. I like.
Pacific Blue has produced one long cane with a big cluster on top. Stiff stem that holds all this. Looks lovely with the blue hibiscus in the back.
@ElbFee - oh yes I agree I could sell my one even if it was in patented. What I meant was I would like to start selling established rose cuttings on eBay and donate the money to charity. Something I’ve been thinking about. Would need to sell the ones out of patent of course. I just need to make sure that the rule about 20 years post introduction is correct for the UK.
Thanks for advice re Jubilee C. Sounds a bit floppy for me. So it doesn’t even sit upright if you train it like a climber onto an obelisk?
Tx @WAMS as it was sold out at TCL I asked Vic if he could kindly include the Lady should he find a stray one on the shelf when assembling my order. And he confirmed both, my order and my special order. Never hurts to ask :-)
I have not so many roses in this second flush in the garden. Desdemona , smaller blooms but out performing Blue for You in fragrance. Celebration keeping its deep yellow.
And as usual Sheila's Perfumed doing its two types on the same stem.

Here it is, surrounded by more pink.
@ElbFee is this of interest?
