    I always buy peppers,  so far always come true.   Tried Kiwi,  seeds germinated but I’m sure we’d never get fruits on them in this climate so dumped them.
    Got a nice little tree from a sweet chestnut. 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    Ah but @B3 and @Hostafan1  Cuts of inner celery (the pale bits) stuffed/buttered with roquefort or any blue cheese and a glass of chilled white - way to go!!
    A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

    Celery.  I put the stumpy ends in water every year to root then plant out in late spring.
    But they’re the best bits to eat … cook’s perks 😋 
    I agree, I always eat cooks perks

    Not even sprinkled with chopped walnuts???   Humbug!!

    You can sprinkle anything you like on a parsnip even a humbug and it will still taste of parsnip. Not keen on cooked celery either. I use it to flavour a stew and chuck it away. Essential raw in  a waldorf salad though
