Cat poop on block paving
Hey. First of all I am not sure if this is the correct section for this post, so sorry if I got it wrong
During the past 4/5 weeks, almost daily, we are getting cat poop at various times of the day during daylight.
People were saying it was a dog or a fox we just knew it was not a fax as that really smells
We have CCTV and recently set it up to record and save and as expected it's a cat.
We have tried spraying white vinegar with 50% water warm water but it's a big drive. Today for the second time its soft poop, disgusting more so
I keep on missing the cat as I want to scare the little.....
We have tried red ground pepper works on grass but not hard surfaces as blown or washed away
We have been looking on Google, but the reviews are not good
Please, please help.

The batteries come with it, and need charging regularly at this time of year.
I still have one or two persistent offenders that come in the garden, but on the whole, they work well. You can move them around a bit which also helps
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I'm surprised the cat is using block paving, they usually prefer soft earth or shingle.
Jaggy branches, bamboo skewers and all the other 'deterrents' certainly don't stop them.

It's certainly a cat and I have spoken to cat people, it is very rare for a cat to poo on driveways and I thought it was someone's dog. But I've caught the creature on cctv twice. I am looking and considering as per your posts.
You may not like them but no animal deserves that.
I know where the cat lives about 20 houses down but no point in going over like a mad man as the owner cant do anything about it
Again guessing, but as your drive is paved, I think my first step would be to pressure wash it, then use a deodorizer. It might be an idea to check with a vet, not only to see if they have any other recommendations but also to check safety. I know people who have had success using vinegar then baking soda, enzyme-neutralizing cleaners (from pet shops, vets, Amazon) and I think also detergent.
These things are more commonly suggested for urine than faeces as that's often the problem during puppy/kitten training, although the products I've just googled do say they work for both.
I know you said your drive is big but I'd also say you need to do the whole area where the cat goes, plus some.
It's likely to be a tom if he's not burying his poo.
Try getting some essential oil - one you like the smell of, maybe lemon or orange, or a woody one.. put about ten drops in some water in a spray bottle, and spray it all over and around your patio and anywhere else you see fit - fences, trees, walls etc. It won't harm plants but try to avoid directly spraying delicate ones. Do it every day/evening unless your garden still smells fragrant! 👍
Cat faeces do give people grief - you only have to look on this forum to see that.
However, the owner can actually do something to help - a cat is someone's pet ( feral cats are a different matter ) and therefore their responsibility - not only to look after their cat but to keep it from upsetting/causing a nuisance to others.
It is possible to keep a cat confined to your own garden if you are willing to make the effort. You can also take your cat for a walk on a lead - much as you would do with a dog. It's such a shame that Cats are seen as an "easy option pet" by many.
If you have to resort to a water scarecrow or a sonic device, it's worth asking Cat's owner if they would be willing to contribute towards the cost. If nothing else, it may make them think about their responsibility as a domestic pet owner. If no one in the neighbourhood says anything, perhaps they don't realise the problem they are causing? Worth a try anyway
May first try what Slow-Worm said but all help is appreciated
Not going to their place, not me really.
Thankfully most of the time the poop has been hard we pick up and use disinfectant spray. Our drive is very clean weed free and only a few years old looks quite new as we look after it
It is driving me mad and I fear someone stepping into it as people don't expect shit in front, near the front door. Last week, the cat did it under the car, we have a very big SUV so no I look under the car as well as fear coming back home and stepping in the cat mess.
