I liked all of it this week, even the viewers' videos. Looking forward to seeing Frances's new garden evolving. Hopefully it will convince folks moving into houses with mature gardens that they don't need to rip out the lot and replace it with turf, hedges and raised beds.

The best episode I have seen in a very long time. LOVE WATCHING FRANCES. So inspiring, apart from that pot collector. She was in her element and could make her own decision what to show.

I amuse myself by looking out for their quirks. In Monty’s case it is the exaggerated pause after a viewer’s video, Nick Bailey saying “in terms of” and Frances rubbing dirt off her hands after every task. For all of them, when commenting on scent, cut to a close up of the nose in the flower, pan back and say “ahh”.

But gardening is, or should be, natural and about nature so wandering round Dartmoor while presenting GW is an irrelevance.
Just as an explainer, some people do get inspiration from walking in nature even it’s Dartmoor. 😊

@punkdoc Her new garden has the average size that probably many have, and seeing a garden in that condition is definitely far more interesting for people than others gardens that are far out of their range, like Monty’s for example. As Frances said, “a house I can afford”. Isn’t this what most people have to do?

But will her garden be interesting for long? For privacy there’ll be no shots looking back towards the house, and views of neighbouring gardens, if any, will also be tightly edited. I can’t imagine there’ll be much garden left to view.

It amuses me how everyone seems to attribute particular shots, pauses, content etc to the presenter … who is following the directions of ……… the director … who then gets an editor to chop it all up and join it together again with different pauses and sound effects 😃

I’ll be very sad if Monty stopped presenting GW.  He IS GW as far as I’m concerned 😟
    To each his own .
MD  is the reason I stopped watching it.
