Good morning Debs. Its bright and sunny here but when I went out to retrieve my bin it was covered in ice - after all the rain yesterday the temperature must have plummeted in the night. I am off to my Bestie's in about an hour. Hopefully there will have been a thaw!

    Morning,

It’s bright and sunny here at the moment, but very chilly. I think there’s been a light frost through the night.

I’m off to do my Pilates class shortly, then a visit to the SM beckons to stock up once more. After that, not sure yet.

Belated birthday wishes to Hazel. I hope you had a lovely day 🎂.

Wishing all the best to @Busy-Lizzie and her OH for today.

Yes it is cold but that sunshine is lovely. I popped out to fill the bird feeders and nearly an hour later I am inside with my slippers in the washing machine and a cup of coffee to warm me up but you know how it is, you “just move this” and then you spot another job and so on. Garden is looking slightly better but so much still to do. So many buds on shrubs and new growth everywhere it’s so cheerful.
  • Morning everyone,
Glad all went well yesterday @Ladybird4 Sorry haven't read exactly what is wrong, but hope things are improving now. Take care.
Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly @Songbird-2 hope it didn't spoil your birthday too much. Hope you feel better soon.
    @Busy-Lizzie so pleased
that OH is having his op at last. Hope all goes well. Will be thinking of you both.
A very cold and dreary day, paper sorting and shredding again today.  OH is feeling very tired today.
    Take care everyone.

    Morning all.

Thank you for your gold wishes.

Back from the hospital. OH has seen the surgeon and the anaesthetist and is second on the list. 🤞

Afternoon all. It's bitterly cold here and we had a little bit of what the weather forecasters call 'winteryness' this morning. Dreadful phrase - don't know what the BBC is coming to!

First - a belated Happy Birthday to Hazel for yesterday. Hope you had a lovely day in spite of not being on top form.

Second - glad they don't seem to be too concerned about your eyes LB. Let's hope the course of eye drops kicks things into touch. Sounds like doing without contacts will be a good move.

Next - BL - hope all goes well for your OH. Fingers tightly crossed. Do you have any idea how long he will need to stay in hospital? I'd suggest trying to meet for lunch one day before visiting hours but (apparently!) this is a good weekend for us to visit MIL so we're off to Yorkshire for a few days. Nobody seems to stay in for more than a few days ATM so he'll probably be back home before we get back. I hope so for both your sakes.

Biglad - it never rains does it? Things so often seem to go t*ts up all at the same time. Hope you get things sorted.

Hope the rest of you are having less eventful times. Seed sowing sounds nice but I know that my shed is far too cold to contemplate that just yet (and I'm not going to heat it!) Maybe some coriander and dill in a couple of weeks.

Good afternoon all. Bestie and I did our best to put the world to rights but I don't think we got too far! Sorry! It never warmed up at all today despite the sun looking so nice through the double glazed windows from the centrally heated living room of my friend.
Debs I have to 'fess up and say that I do that displacement activity ALL of the time these days which means that not only do I have a 'to do' list but also a 'to finish' list!
Busy, such good news at long last. Fingers crossed your OH is out soon. Remind him about the Pile of Poo on Noto Color Emoji Animated situation which held my friend up from coming home for 2 days. She is coming along nicely now.
T'Bird, it's too cold here yet for seed sowing. I wonder how Ante is getting on with his return to the cold temperatures. Have a great trip to Yorkshire.

  • Hazel hope you’ll soon be on the mend.  LB hope you had a good time with bestie.  I stayed up with Dad last night and we were having a trip down memory Lane.  Bright sunshine today.  I have daffodils in bloom in the garden and a nice walk with Dad. Have a good evening everyone. Lily hope you and oh had a better day.

Thank you all for your support.

OH has a new hip!  He was a bit groggy but well enough for them to give him a coffee when he rang me at 5pm. I had rung the ward twice earlier but he was in theatre then recovery. My stomach was churning all day. What made it worse that our good friend in France, the one who introduced us years ago, died this afternoon. She has been in hospital since Christmas, pancreatic cancer. Anyway, thank goodness OH is OK. He is so relieved, as am I.
