Oh boy! Can I join the club? I have a major problem with putting things away in safe places where I know I will find them. Somewhere so obvious I would never forget where. Never to be seen again. I live alone so have no one else to blame. I once lost my car keys for a fortnight. Eventually, I decided to retrace my steps from when I arrived home in the car, parked and the keys disappeared. Anyone would have thought I was raving mad as I retraced my steps, even going down the garden to collect the imaginary washing from the line because it had just started raining the day I lost the keys, dropping imaginary pegs into the peg bag, laying imaginary washing over my arm. Keys found! In the peg bag. Doh! On one occasion I even walked home from shopping with a very strong feeling I had forgotten something. Yes, my very new baby, parked outside a shop in his pram! Other times I find things in places where I think to myself, "What possessed me to put that there? Usually weeks, months, or years later. I have also emptied my handbag 2 or 3 times to no avail, 4th time, there it was.
My climbing bean seeds went missing last year. I found some from the year before and sowed those (they didn't do very well). I'm giving up on them and will order more.
But - I have found both my blue woollen scarf and my grey one! But the new grey one, bought to replace the grey one that went missing, has disappeared.
I had two of this kind of thing happen last year. I bought new glasses in November 21 and got new sunglasses too. Then we changed the car in March 22 so hubby emptied the contents into the garage . Come summer I wanted my sunglasses, could not be found. Worse still hubby said he couldn't remember me getting any, but I had got a lovely bronze framed pair I said, no not convinced couldn't find them. He looked, he even went to Boots to check I had bought some, they said no I didn't . Now everyone thinks I'm loosing it! Come August and hubby is working in the garage, comes in looking sheepish with said glasses case in hand!!! 🥴 Now who's is loosing it! But I still can't find the charger for the kirtcher window cleaner, maybe I should raid the garage......
I've always found the fail safe method when you are hunting for something you KNOW you have but after searching for days you still cannot find it is to buy it again. Within hours the "lost" item will reappear
Whilst I can sympathise with temporarily losing rack of goodies placed in "safe" places, I do, always, keep seeds in the drinks fridge in Tupperwares. They never go walkies cos they're above the eyeline of OH and his beers and wines and they're not on the door with my pots of dochujang, miso paste, Thai red curry etc..

This was not meant to be rude, merely humorous.
