    I'm laughing...
Yes - a Glasgow salad is basically -chips.
I don't think I'm a very good example of a Scot [technically a Glaswegian] as I don't like chips that much, I've never had a deep fried Mars bar or one of those hideous pizza crunches, and I don't drink or smoke.  :D

My oldest nephew had to try a deep fried Mars bar when he was through here at Uni. He's now a professor of Sports Science so I'm not sure how often he mentions it to students  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Ooh @pansyface You mean you never offered your obnoxious French student Snails cooked in Garlic butter ?  :D
We hosted students from the local EFL college for 3 or 4 years in the'90's and had to provide them with 3 meals a day - none of which included Jellied Eels - and they ate the lot.
In retrospect, it could have been my AG Parrot's constant chatter and antics that took their mind off what they were eating
    ;)

We must be healthier on the east coast @Fairygirl
I don't think i've ever seen a deep fried Mars bar on the menu, never mind tasted one! :D
A deep fried pizza is a different story. Mmmmm.

I was uncertain about how to use quinoa but the health benefits got me doing some searching and I came across this recipe which I really like.
I leave out the chickpeas but add the seeds of a whole pomegranate instead.
It keeps in the fridge for the best part of a week

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

You don't know how to use quinoa?
Buy a posh house and photo pics of it all over social media whilst wearing metro sexual clothing. Every luvvie knows that!

I make a similar quinoa salad to that one Pete but instead of cooking the quinoa in plain water I dissolve a veg stock cube in the cooking water.
