My daughter hates mayonnaise @JennyJ, and it annoys her if she's out and fancies a sandwich because nearly all of them have it in them  :)
It's the sliminess of dressings I loathe.

    We're all different eh?  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Triple fried surely 😁

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

OK, this is a new one on me...dare I ask what it is?

I don't dare answer that question
Hopefully someone can explain without causing offence 🤣

I have the same problem with bought sandwiches @Fairygirl . I always took my own lunch when I went out to work.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
  • Ahhh, ok.  The deep frying culture is active on this side of the pond, too.  Usually you only find that at county fairs, though.  Deep-fried pickles, fried candy bars, fried corn dogs, etc.

It's even worse in England. All they eat is jellied eels, and they sew pearls onto their best suit before they eat them!

I love creamy sauces and mayonnaise but the coleslaw type salads in the UK have far too much mayonnaise in them. I prefer a light coating, not a sloppy mess.

I like crunchy salads, such as chopped celery, apple, chicory, radishes and iceburg lettuce with sultanas and chopped walnuts tossed in a dressing of mayonnaise mixed with French dressing made with walnut oil. Walnut oil is a speciality of Dordogne.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Not triple fried but parboiled then double fried.
Glasgow was notorious in the past for its poor diet, not exactly big on fruit and veg. Chips or French fries were reputed to be the only non-meat part of the diet.
The scariest deep frying I have come across comes from the USA - deep fried whole turkey, not an indoor technique!
