As an antidote to the push your buttons thread, I thought it might be fun to improve our vocabulary with euphonious or interesting words. 
My word for today is : lugubrious. I like the way it you can savour the syllables as they roll about your tongue like a fine wine. It sounds like it ought to mean joyful - shame😐

    I do an 'easy' crossword or two most days. Sometimes I get flummoxed and maybe try for a day to work out the answer.
    Sometimes I don't.

    A couple of days ago the clue was - Trainee - the answer was Neophyte 
    Yesterday I was stuck on Forswear - the answer was Abjure
    I suppose there's easy, and there's royal (yes, that's a synonym for easy...apparently)

    I was thinking about my first job @B3 (other thread) and the boss's son did some work experience as a computer operator one summer - and he introduced me to both the word and related acts!

    Edited to add: Do you know when you think of a witty retort after you've pressed 'Post' - well... He managed to disappear every time he was meant to be working - should have been the rejoinder above.

    Ultracrepidation - to talk with authority on a subject you know little about. In other words a word beginning with b and ending with ullshit.

    The etymology of ultracrepidation involving Greek artists and cobblers (shoesmiths, not rhyming slang for those sniggering at the back) is well worth researching.
