    Afternoon.

Still coughing and blowing nose here. Going on a bit now 🤧

@D0rdogne_Damsel - what a horrible thing for Charlie to go through. Surely that is a crime, not just a sackable offence. Shocked to hear it. I hope you are both ok.

As for the rat situation with punkdoc - very unpleasant! I hope that can be resolved ASAP.

Take care everyone and dig the thermals out for tonight!

  • Hello again,  a bit confused here, after saying there wasn't any frost  the car had ice on it when I went out.  That said on the Allotments my Dahlias are still green,  haven't cut them down or lifted them yet. Got a fair bit done today with clearing up so if the ground is frozen the next few days it won't matter.
    Stay warm everyone.

Just popping in to send big hugs to DD and Charlie, a very upsetting situation, hope Charlie is OK.
Also hope @punkdoc has success in repelling those pesky invaders before his weekend trip.
Keep warm everyone, it's cold outside.
  • Our dahlias are still in their pots, but they moved into our studio today … tha’s gunna be whully frawn afore long bor … 🥶

  • Thanks for all the kind comments re Charlie, he's ok, a bit stunned by all the hoo ha following the event. Luckily, the man admitted everything, so there's no argument, which at least means Charlie hasn't got to argue his corner. I don't really want the police involved, for Charlie's sake, but will discuss with school any restraints put on this person working with minors again. It seems he's an angry man.

On a lighter note, I attended a clothes swap this evening and came away with a beautiful winter coat and a pair of M&S corduroy trousers. All for free. Very happy, and wine and nibbles were served too. 😁

I do hope Ratty is dealt with @punkdoc, not nice.

Our local pool is also very cool, definitely encourages you to keep moving.

Hard frost again tonight, 3rd night on the trot, but lovely and sunny throughout the day.

Trying to get get to the end of the series The Fall on iPlayer, but it's dragging on a bit.....think I might just give up and snuggle into my warm bed. 48 Mince Pies, 4 Xmas puddings and 24 Christmas cupcakes on my list for tomorrow.... Sleep will help.

Good night all and thanks again for supportive comments.

I've had quite a busy day today, big Christmas shopping spree for the grandchildren. OH stayed at home. I went to a huge hypermarket, Auchan, and a huge toyshop. I also wanted a small Christmas tree, about 3ft tall, fake or real, to go on the shelf on the half wall that divides the kitchen and the breakfast room, but I couldn't find one. I found a dinky little 2 ft fake one so I bought that. I can't put one in front of the sitting room French windows like last year because OH likes to go out that way. There is no room for a tree here, all the spaces are filled. That's the problem with downsizing.

When I got home and after I had a sandwich and a cup of tea around 4.30pm I finished making the chicken noodle soup (had some this evening) and I made 33 mince pies. 17 are for the church Christmas fair. Must make more for the Carol Service on Sunday. We ate 2 each while watching Harry Potter, the first film. Will watch the 2nd half tomorrow. OH has gone to bed.

Sounds a very productive day @Busy-Lizzie. I bought a jar of mincemeat last week and that's as far as I've got. If I remember rightly, last year I was making them on Xmas Eve, so must get my act together this year.

I feel very sorry for the poor people in Sheffield without heating or hot water right now. Hope the culprit companies are dishing out electric heaters all round.

Morning all. We’ve woken to a cool windy day from the south east. There was chat on the weather channel of snow on the peaks again (not believing it’s December).

Our drainage trench has been finished and the builders not needed any more. 👏

It’s cold in the house, so we are lounging on the front veranda. Great!

  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
    That looks very smart @Pat E 😊
Sharp frost here … everything’s white and sparkly.
Wonder if @punkdoc ‘s ‘lodger’ has met his match yet?
