Morning all, Hugs @D0rdogne_Damsel there is always something to knock us back a bit just when you think all is going smoothly!
We have waited for the plumber/sweep but he didn't turn up also the electrician hasn't answered our call.
@punkdoc what did the chap say he thought it was in your house? We had edible dormice (glis glis) lodging here when we first moved in, I see they are now in the UK, do you have a lot of woodland round about? Just a thought.
We're off to the shops now, catch up with you all later.

So...... it/they have been in and out of the trap, so not squirrels. They now think rats.

Uh oh @punkdoc.  Have you also got the smell?  Like a hamsters cage?

OH is doing ironing!  Bless him.  I'm still slaving over a hot laptop as I wind up the paperwork from the weekend.  There is a long form to fill in as one of the requirements of running the raffle.

  • You've ruled out a poltergeist then @punkdoc;)

    The droppings are not poltergeist.
Its a real pain as we are going up to Scotland, MIL visiting and the ratters need to revisit to check the poison.
We have had to chuck out all the fruit and veg and Moira is now disinfecting the kitchen.
Looks like the little buggers are coming up the drain.

Sorry @punkdoc 🤢 So they got in and out of the traps unharmed? Clever rats ...
@D0rdogne_Damsel. So sorry to hear that, glad the school dealt with it. Seriously though, knocking off a child for being naughty?

It is cold. Walked to Aldi this morning, hands froze holding shopping bag back home. This afternoon I have aquagym, all public swimming pools here have lowered their water and ambient temperature. Last week took me ages to warm up. Aqua gym is the only thing I am allowed to do by the docs at the moment, so I will continue. Maybe I should get a wet suit (the instructor wears one!)

@punkdoc, would any of these stop the rat access for you?

    Good afternoon,
Oh no @D0rdogne_Damsel, how upsetting for you and Charlie. The school did what they had to do in dismissing the monitor -he really shouldn’t be allowed to work anywhere near children and young people ever again.
What a worry for you @punkdoc. Rats are very clever creatures, but I do hope the pest controller will be able to get the better of them and get rid of them soon for you.
Had a pleasant morning browsing around a “garden centre” (doesn’t sell much in the way of plants these days), looking at the wonderful Christmas displays. Of course, we didn’t come away empty handed - so easily tempted, I’m afraid. It was doing brisk business, wouldn’t mind a percentage of their daily profit 😂.
Going to put up the door wreath now, which came on Friday.

Snap, @Red maple, met a friend this morning for coffee, cake, and chat at a GC. She's mesmerised by all the Xmas displays and spent ages trying to choose things. Ended up with a huge (and very expensive) basket full. Mine was positively stingy in comparison but I did buy some extra savoury goodies for OH and my daughter to enjoy.

We had a hard frost this morning so I waited until it warmed up a trifle before walking down to the shop. The road/footpath wasn't too bad underfoot thank goodness.

Tha's a real horrible problem for you to have @Punkdoc, I'd go absolutely bananas if I found rats in the house. Assuming your drains are outside the house, how on earth are they getting into the kitchen - through the plug holes?

You wouldn't ever catch me in a lukewarm swimming pool @coccinella. I think you're very brave.
