  • Evening all,

Yes, chilly out there @Dovefromabove, 2nd morning I've had to defrost the car before going anywhere.

Had a boring paperwork day, gosh, how I despise it, but year end coming up, end of January, so a lot of stuff to be organised. :(

Had a bit of a shock phone call from Charlie's school today, he's been involved in an 'incident'. Apparently, he was being a bit too boisterous in the showers and the chap over seeing them lost his temper with him, slapped Charlie and knocked him to the ground. Instant dismissal for the monitor, Charlie is very upset about the whole incident, feels guilty the man lost his job, he's been to to see a councillor about it and of course they're obliged to inform me. Charlie didn't report the incident, didn't want to make a fuss, but his friend told another monitor and he insisted it was reported. The councillor has assured Charlie it is not his fault, in fact said it wasn't the first 'incident' and after several other minor incidents this is just the straw that broke the camels back, as it were. Charlie is very upset. I have to attend a formal meeting at the school next week. All very upsetting. Even if Charlie was out of order, hitting him with force enough to knock him to the ground is absolutely unacceptable. I am really not comfortable with the fact the whole thing took place in the shower room either. Charlie didn't want to tell me because he didn't want me to worry, but, as I explained to him, hearing it from a member of staff was more stressful than hearing it directly from him. Hopefully, all will be well. Such a shame because until now he has absolutely loved the whole school experience.

My second problem of the day is that I keep making enough dinner for 3 and I am obviously on my own now, currently swimming in Spaghetti Bolognaise.  :o

Anyway, a good evening to all, good morning (soon) to @Pat E and I hope your squirrel is 'rescued and re-housed @punkdoc

Oh dear @D0rdogne_Damsel, no wonder you are upset but absolutely no blame to Charlie in the circumstances. Hope it all gets sorted at the meeting.

Good morning DD. Sorry about your stressful experience. I hope it can get sorted quickly.

we’ve got the our builder and his son working on making better drainage around the house because there has been moisture accumulating under the house😳 so, jackhammer, shovelling etc going on.
It hot and sunny this morning but storms predicted late tonight.

Oh poor Charlie!  But he absolutely must not feel responsible for that monitor's actions. Who knows what this person had done before this?  Upsetting for both of you though.

Not at all good @D0rdogne_Damsel … I understand your concern. It sounds as though school have taken the right action with dismissing the chap … but I hope it’s not going to stop there. He has assaulted a child and shouldn’t ever be employed to work with children and young people again.  I presume police will be informed.

Of course Charlie is confused, but it is absolutely not in any way his fault … I hope he (and the other lads involved too)will get ongoing counselling to support him through this.  He knows you have a level head and despite being initially upset you’ll be a rock for him, as always. Big hugs for you. Of course I know you’ll keep the lines of communication open with school. ((Hugs))

Night night everyone … sleep tight.

    Morning all.

Sending sympathy to @D0rdogne_Damsel, what a worry.

My car was to have had winter tyres fitted today but they haven't arrived, should be next week. I'm going Christmas shopping instead for presents for 7 of my grandchildren. Going to the big town 30 mins away as my local small town doesn't have enough choice.

  • Good morning everyone,  amazingly still no frost here, much colder, overnight low of 1.1.
Sorry to hear about Charlie @D0rdogne_Damsel, hope everything settles quickly.
@punkdoc maybe you need to set more than one trap, hope you get the culprit soon.
