Have a look at clusianas @coccinella.   There's a mostly white one with deep pink outer bands.   They did very well for me in my Belgian garden - similar climate to yours - and came back year after year.

Am I allowed to say:  NOTHING WILL SUIT THOSE CONTAINERS!

I would put black and white tulips in, 100%.

Isn't that another way of saying what I said.  There is no good colour match, or contrast.

Agreed! Any shade of pink might clash horribly. I think I would go for parrot tulips to match the flamboyance of the pot.

It is well known @Nollie that most chaps see colours differently from females.  I'm quite happy with toning pinks as long as we're not mixing fuchsia or raspberry pinks with strawberry.

That colour of pot is very à la mode here, especially in chic town gardens and terraces.

Try it @coccinella and see how it looks!  I've often found that topping pots with pebbles also helps with the final look!

  • @coccinella use a colour wheel, available to view online, to decide what colours to use.  You can use colours that are next to each other and also directly opposite.  For instance as you have already said red and pink go together as do pink and orange.

Is the other container available for planting too?  If so, try two types of combinations, one colour coordinated and the other spontaneous.  I think you'll prefer the second one, as it is your own choice!
