I'll will see if I can get another / better quality Gabriel oak off DA, shame my 2 others bought at same time desdemona and eustacia vye have both done really well.
I thought Fire were having health related problems it been quite a while since her last post . I hope she hasn't left .
I hope @Fire hasn't left the forum, she is a jolly good sport and generous contributor. I also recall her saying she had some medical issues so I sincerely hope all is well.
It's great to see all the posts still being made even in the gloom months; I loved reading through them all. Midsummer Nights Dream is really a great colour isn't it.
I received my first time RV Rogers order this week and a further unnecessary order from Trevor White. I got through my winter gardening chores so quickly it felt I had nothing left to do. I've ordered some pots to put them in, just cheap ones. I think I've got spaces for them in the ground but will wait til next year to ensure I'm not imagining them.
L-R Lemon Blush (a yellow alba;I didn't know there was such a thing)- Polyantha Paul Crampel - Forever Royal - Polyantha Margot Koster. I like the shape and leaves of my poly Yvonne Rabier and thought I'd try more.
L-R Souvenir de Mme. Auguste Charles and Pink Leda
Orpheline de Juillet potted from RV Rogers. I haven't heard of this one before but the gallica family have warmed my heart so far so worth taking the risk
Not rose related but just thought I'd share this formidable icicle. 'My' parking space at the supermarket was cordoned off and then I saw this mighty fellow overhead. Hope you are all doing ok with the cold weather. Looks like it is on the melt here finally but the local paper (which sometimes mis-foretells doom) says there's a yellow warning for slipperiness so maybe it will turn cold again...
@Nollie. Thank you so much for the update about TCL. I’ve managed to secure both Lady Emma Hamilton and Falstaff, plus a couple of others fell into the basket. Betty Boop and Ebb Tide. The former LEH I left at our last home as it was planted out in the main garden and the latter (Falstaff)our old neighbour removed when he was replacing the fence between our properties and didn’t tell me. Can’t wait.
@Nollie I’m struggling now trying to decide whether to order Jude or not 🙈 I’ve struggled last summer with watering all the plants I already have so I decided not to buy any new roses this year… I’ve been eyeing Jude for a while and now it’s been discontinued I’m getting a serious case of FOMO.
I’m wondering whether to wait and see if someone from here would be willing to swap a rooted cutting of one for something I have (I’ve got LEH and MW, just need some luck with cuttings 🤞🏻)
A question for you rose experts. I have been reviewing the performance of my roses and note that R. Princess Anne, which was always repeat flowering for me [ 8 years ] has for the last 2 years only flowered once. Nothing else has changed: mulched, fed regularly, watered when needed. Any ideas?
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
@JessicaS ..aah.. oh well, maybe Diamond Eyes then.. delighted your AMND is doing so well, such a lovely colour that.. Night Owl can only improve it seems, pity that, it always looks so huge in photos..
Hope Fire is getting better too, I noticed she 'liked' a few photos just a week ago, so I'm sure she'll be back again before too long.. I think we all need a break from time to time..

I do wonder if Austin has dumped their old stock on the eu market, there did seem to be a glut of Graham Thomas here shortly after that was ‘retired’.
I sincerely hope Fire hasn’t left for good too, her contributions will be greatly missed.
Will do @floralies, thanks again.

Oh... and my Loubert roses have been despatched..
It's odd I don't have any purple roses, I tend to prefer paler shades I suppose.
