This was my Celebration in flower this year @Nollie , not the same shape rose or habit as yours. Starts very pink tinged buds, very buttery yellow HT shape when first open, then pales to dark cream open with a visible eye. 🤷♀️ very upright, but this is its first vigorous growth year.
They kind of suit the soft autumn light don’t they? My Buff Beauty is pretty much defoliated @Fire but, like others are finding, is still blooming regardless. Oh and thanks for the reminder, here’s one I forgot earlier!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
C2000 has tiny flowers, about 2" across and no discernable scent. Leaves are small and dark and edges often tinged with red. I don't recognise it looking at yours above @purplerallim. Hopefully you can see the scale of the flowers from looking at the Osmanthus and astrantia bottom left - flowers are very small.
Glad you are keeping well @Marlorena. Look forward to your winter wonders thread
A fab sprinkling of new bare roots everyone. I have an order on the way from Trevor Whites but by Royal Mail and they don't seem to have delivered anything the whole of this week Their spaces are ready anyway.
Thanks @Victoria Sponge just looked at that myself and agree it's not 2000. They are too small and don't appear to be pink in the bud. It was bought from the Belton garden centre, who stock TW, DA and Beals roses. I bought it before becoming interested in roses, so didn't really take much notice of the name other than Celebration I just loved the colour and old rose fragrance, at that stage it looked HT type.
Ok, I will hold off from pruning. The whole garden needs a serious clean and tidying up though. Leaves from all the trees and blackspotted rose leaves, floppy plants, soggy overgrown grass, there is a lot of mess.
I'm not sure how popular Celebration2000 is @Nollie , I've never seen it anywhere but DA and they have had it on their website for years. I suppose small flowers and unscented, there are far better yellows. I nearly chucked it the other year but changed my mind. It has a curious charm.
