Record everything … photos, communications and dates.

Small Claims Court isn’t complex for a case like that. You don’t need a solicitor, and he won’t have a leg to stand on 😉

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

I don’t think I’ll make a claim. It’s annoying but I’m the grand scheme of things we’ve managed to address the major damage.
I’ll just make sure our neighbours know what has happened so they won’t hire him and have similar experiences.

final update final update in case anyone wants to know!

The paint that the decorator had put on started peeling off. Turns out he hadn’t mist coated anything and had just painted onto fresh plaster with slightly diluted acrylic emulsion!!!

We were looking at sanding everything back down and starting over. The costs were spiralling when our builder put us in touch with a nice decorator who thought he could help.

Finally, finally after weeks and weeks of stress we have a more or less finished kitchen! 🙌🙌🙌

thanks for all your supportive messages along the way.

Glad that's the kitchen's finally finished after such a saga. Time for a celebration glass of wine perhaps!
