1) for sheer exuberant pleasure ( and a surprising amount of learning without realising it) John Lord secret garden; 2) for an excellent solid mix of information and pleasure with someone who has an excellent sense of what’s interesting and who is a very interviewer the Middle Sized Garden and 3) for the charm of both gardener and garden, Claus Dalby (in English) . I’m also not really sure if you’d classify Charles Dowding as farming or gardening but he is always interesting on no dig methods.
There is a suprisingly small amount of solid gardening channels on Youtube. I've been hunting for years and come up with about five (the above) that aren't about self promotion. This seems to go to show ... something. Youtube is a depositary for terabytes of dross, yes, but also - if someone is putting out good quality, regular, helpful and genuinely informative content and sticks at it, it will stand out from the dross. It's tempting to think 'there is no point in starting a good online project because everyone else is doing it too'. In fact, they aren't.
It's difficult to make a film short on your own, but I am getting the hang of it, the idea is to let folk see what I'm doing, then folk can take or leave what they like, it's not perhaps for advanced gardeners, but I felt I should share over 60 years of growing experiences, the good and the bad. Here's todays offering The headless gardener picking crops and talking about pests - YouTube
Most of my favourite channels have already been mentioned. I also like Rosy Hardy gardening for good advice on growing perennials and Gardening at Douentza, a lovely channel from a southern Irish garden.
