A friend made a garden compost toilet due to covid. Sounds like a good idea but I’m not sure about the poo part.

It breaks down over the years and just becomes earth.

Be careful what you suggest.  We lived in Germany in the late 1950's when my dad was in the RAF.  They used 'human manure' on the fields.  It must have been pretty fresh as the smell was unbearable at times.

Sewage sludge is already used, under very strict conditions, on agricultural land in the UK. Has been for years.

I do, but then I live in middle of no-where, so it's easy to unfurl the beast and let rip.  :D
It saves money, is more convenient (I don't have to traipse back into the house) and of course improves the compost.
Womens is no good so I read (hormones). Mens is rich in Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium and is classed as the 'green' part of compost ingredients so take that into consideration if your mix is already a bit green heavy. Remember if you're on some medication it'll come out into the mix too.
Back in the 70s or 80s a company did start selling composted human poo in blue plastic bags, it was brown dusty stuff and I remember my Dad getting some. It didn't seem to go well for some reason...
I could be completely wrong, but I remember it as being called 'Humax'. Which is now one of the biggest producers and sellers of compost.

I have a version of a SheWee, and I'll tell you now, they do not work with trousers.
Can be used with a dressing gown and a toilet to psychologically mess up your OH's mind though. 🤣

This stuff was untreated.  Effectively straight from 'source'.  Living out there in the 50's was a real eye opener, or probably parental eye-cover if you had daughters.  Men would casually stand at the side of the road, facing the road, and pee into the gutter

Adds a whole new meaning to the term 'wetting your lettuce' 🤣
