I think you've got it @steephill, looks exactly like the pics.
    Thanks so much for ID.

I knew someone would get it.  :)

  • Do you know what these are maybe? I think the top two are an older version of the other one.

  • Here is the sick I mentioned:

It looks more like an alien life form than a fungus to me!

I have come across those sickly looking ones too.

Your red ones look like one of the wax caps Mike. There are a few of them. A pic of the gills underneath would give a definite id. See mine below, I'd not got round to posting my findof  the other day yet.

The sicky looking one is one of the slime moulds, not surprisingly called dog sick slime. Not learned the proper name for it yet.

  • Thankyou Uff, as informative as ever! It's about knowing the correct terminology, once i've got a word I can research it further.
I didn't want to touch or break them which is why I haven't got pics of the underside. It would have felt like tearing up a wild flower to take it home!

It wouldn't do any harm Mike. I always take my photo then turn the fungi over so that it can drop its spores if it hasn't already done so. Unless I'm taking some home to eat them  :)

These appeared almost overnight. I think it's armillaria tabescens, ringless honey mushroom but I'm not good enough at ID to risk consumption.

I usually leave mushrooms alone but it was crowding my ginger so I removed it. Here's the bottom side.

Mushrooms are dwindling now but found this in the garden this morning. Please @Uff
