Tiny bracket fungus on Japanese Knotweed
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

For a minute I thought yours is the same as one that I can't ID but it isn't. Can someone ID please? I think it's a bracket and was tiny, about half the size of a pea.

  • On my walk this afternoon, I took a short cut, and found this growing!!

The Chicken of the Woods or Sulphur Polypore.

”Edible when young.  Considered to be a delicacy in Germany and North America” my book says.

It doesn’t explain why only there. 😊

Since I have no idea how old ths is, I'll leave it in situ.

@wild edges Have a look at your hedgehog fungi location, the season is starting. I picked a kilo from our hotspot yesterday and there will be lots more over the next few eeks.
  • I returned to the tree with the fungi, and took more photos. Mind you, it was daft, during a thunderstorm.
