The bottom left consisted of tiny ones about 2cm long.
That's a Candle Snuff fungus. I guess they do look like an extinguished wick.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

@coccinella those growing out of the end of the log are turkey tail fungus and the one growing out of the moss is hoof fungus. I don't know what the other two as they are old specimens and difficult to id. The fungi bods might know though.

@Uff, I thought you'd ask for that as soon as I got back to the house!

Will try, but it's only small and is in a gravel patch tight up against a wood sleeper. I'd have to pick it very carefully (I will wear gloves) to be able to see the underside.

  • I've got some more for your perusal, including some fancy red ones  :) Will post them up later.
I've found something which looks like alien sick in clumps all over the fields, it sits in the grass and binds them together. Does this sound like some kind of fungusy thing? It's pretty weird stuff and I have some pics of it.

Hi @Uff, just remembered you wanted another photo. It's abt 6m across and the same high. More of a turquoise blue but changing colour in the centre - beginning to die? Any ID would be fun!

Sounds like it Mike, pics would be good.
I've no idea what that is Lizzie27. They change almost daily and that's what I find so frustrating. Someone with more knowledge than me might be able to id it though.

@Lizzie27 it might be a Blue Roundhead, Stropharia caerula. Have a look at the photos here - https://www.wildfooduk.com/mushroom-guide/blue-roundhead/
