Evening everyone, hope you’ve all had a good day, Topbird That sounded an epic journey to make, combined with the incident of your rear windscreen breaking on route yikes 😱 I hope you can get this sorted out. A nice treat to have F&C with MIL while there. It’s getting close to your departure date, hope all the flights/connections are going ahead as planned🤞
Dead headed some roses and removed the weeds from the border, mums front garden was looking nice & tidy. Hope Bluebells & Hazel are ok not seen them today, have a nice evening everyone.Â
Evening everyone, goodness it's been quiet on here today. We've had a lovely day with our Poppets. The weather stayed dry, so we went for a walk to the duck pond and also had a walk through the woods. On the way back we played Pooh sticks at out little bridge. A little chilly at times, but good fun. @Chivetalking bet your mum loved seeing you today. And was glad of your help in the garden. @Topbird OH heck so sorry to hear about windscreen troubles. Do hope everything is sorted now. That was a long drive out, lovely to see MIL and have fish and chips though. Hi to Rosie and Hazel, hope you're both ok, not seen you today. Feels a bit chilly this evening, best get a wriggle on and get our evening meal. Se you later.
Good afternoon all. Flipping heck T'Bird, that sounds like a magical mystery tour except they didn't appear to be much magic in it with your window shattering like that. It would certainly give you peace of mind getting it sorted before your holiday. Failing that, do you know anyone with a big tarpaulin?
I had to wait in for a parcel today - a new bag - due to be delivered some time between 10:26 and 14:26. True to form if arrived nearer the latter and I was fed up having to be around in case I missed the Postie. Unfortunately it wasn't big enough for all my 'essentials' so I had to ring the RHS up and advise them I was returning it. It will most likely be after this long weekend. I then read my meters and got the readings sent off. I did get a lot of empty plant pots cleaned ready for their next inhabitants. Haven't heard about sis-in-law yet.
Chive, your Mum will be pleased that you have got her garden all tidied up for her.
I am signing out for today. Must get in touch with Bestie to see what she thinks about tomorrow - as its a Bank Holiday and there may be road closures her way as well. See you all tomorrow. Enjoy your evenings.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
That's a bit deep @Ladybird4🙂. Just the sort of thing I suddenly think about out of the blue and then spend days thinking about.
Re the window - plans all changed. No way was the insurance going to get it sorted before we went away. They asked us to source the glass 😲 and then said it would be next week before they could be a*sed to see if they could get hold of some and then a bit longer before they could actually fit it.
Well we did source the glass, and the suppliers said it was a DIY job. OH has been up to Corby to collect and we'll be DIY'ing after watching some You Tube videos. Watch this space🫣. This country's going to hell in a badoodly handcart...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
SGL Glad you had a lovely day with the poppets and we’re able to take a walk to the duck pond and play pooh sticks sounds very enjoyable 🤗 LB Very frustrating to wait the entire time for the parcel and disappointing to have to return it again. Hope that your visit to bestie can go ahead tomorrow, Topbird I hope you can install the new glass without too much difficulty, certainly better than waiting on the insurance company to rectify it, Goodnight everyone I hope you all sleep well tonight.Â
Good morning @Ladybird4 and all to follow. Work not too bad yesterday just very busy. Beautiful morning here so I need to get up and make a start on my day in the garden. Really need to get on top of things.Â
Hope everyone has a lovely day planned. Happy Jubilee!
Good grief T'Bird! You should certainly think about sacking off your Insurance Company the next time it comes to renewal time after that poor performance. I agree that things, once simple to sort out, have now become a veritable minefield of lengthy 'holding on whilst listening to pap musik, not finding a "press" option that fits your query exactly or automated voices'. It does my head in at times. I hope that you found useful help on t'internet.
After a chat with Bestie yesterday evening, we decided to give today a miss as it could get a little chaotic on the roads. We will catch up another time. She and her Mum are having a week away at Pine Lake, near Carnforth next week so I might drive up and have a day with them.
It was very misty when I got up this morning which I hope means that the sun will be cracking the flags later. Could be a good gardening day I think.
SGL, I had a much better sleep last night - hope that you did too.
Time for tea and a snug with Lily.
Have lovely days all of you.

Saying night night everyone.Â
Hopefully we all get a good nights sleep tonight. I can't have 3 sleepless nights on the trot.Â
