Good morning Ruby - you snuckered in - I can feel a gardening day coming on there and Dove, good to hear your MIL is recovering well. Our family lived in Lincoln for a short while when Dad was waiting for a family house to become available at RAF Scampton. The house we lived in was near a really, really steep hill - I remember that well. I sat my 11+ whilst we lived there.
Yay SGL, its trying hard to peek through here as well. 🌤️

    Morning all.

I'm glad you had a good time @Dovefromabove and that MIL is better.

During the first lockdown the village celebrated VE day in their front gardens with a non mingling tea party. I went for my exercise walk and waved at them. It was a lovely sunny day.

The sun is shining. Hopefully I'll be more motivated to do some gardening. There are my new plants to plant and other plants that need support or tying up. The daffodils are looking very messy and are getting in the way of perennials trying to grow in the flower beds. I'm very tempted to tie them up a bit. I've done it before, using a leaf to wind around the other leaves and it didn't stop them coming up the next year.

    Morning all,

It looks like it'll be another cracking day for gardening but I've got more work to do before I can attempt to hobble round out there :(

Ouch @Ladybird4 - the mere thought of squash, with all the lunging, twisting and turning, has me reaching for the painkillers :o

Enjoy the good weather those who've got it.

Came in out of the garden - no hot water! The boiler pressure has dropped. Normally I can rectify this myself but the guy who came to service the boiler earlier this year had turned the little taps under the boiler off with such force they are immoveable for my arthritic fingers. A 16 minute phone call and I have an engineer coming out tomorrow between - wait for it - 08:00 and 18:00! Thats my Monday sorted for me. I am so glad that I have an electric shower!

Hi folks,  A lovely sunny afternoon here although we had quite a bit of rain overnight.  I've been out in the garden helping next door replace some of the fence panels.  Moved quite a few pots around and cut back a large dead Clematis Montana.  Will wait to see if it sprouts again before getting something else to climb over the shed.  I will probably give a coat of paint too (that's the shed not the Montana).
I've had to plant my runner beans out as they were getting too large to keep in the greenhouse.  I'll just have to keep my eye on the weather.  Also planted a row of french beans in the raised bed and topped up the potato sacks.  The seedlings that took a tumble seem to be ok so hopefully I wont lose many of them.

    Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

It’s glorious here . I have had to put the hose out . I have shunted a lot of pots around .Going to read for a little while .Sorry you can’t turn the water pressure up on your boiler LB . We have the same problem , the engineers must be very strong . Which makes moving the little key under the boiler impossible to move .I have a dental appointment tomorrow lunch time .I lost a sliver of tooth last week . Dentist is in a pretty town six miles away .There is a super home bakery there . I may have to bring some goodies home .Also round the corner from the dentist is a small garden centre . A two minute walk .There is a very nice tea shop on the same parade as the dentist .All in the centre of town .We will be able to get a cup of tea there before we get the mini bus home .
Enjoy the rest of your day folks .

Hello all! Just back from Malvern show with youngest daughter we had a lovely time and I bought just a few plants plus a delicious choc orange brownie which has just been enjoyed with a cuppa. Also some fancy organic soap. 2 new clematis and a few other perennials including an Echium, never heard of them but those at the show were so covered in bees I couldn’t resist.
Feeling tired after a day at the show on top of 15 hours yesterday but looking forward to a week off of happy gardening.
