I gave in to temptation and set the trap out last night. I got two moths. Two. And one wasn't even in the trap. Some guy from near Lincoln was posting up loads from his trap on iNat Maybe it was warmer over there. With current energy prices I'm not sure I can justify running a 12w bulb all night to catch two moths.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
I got 26 moths last night. 14 C here most of the night. First 6 were outside the trap, but included a Merveille du jour, and two red lined quaker in the trap this morning. Broad bordered yellow underwing. Merveille du jour
I was going to pack the trap up today and give it up for the year but the weather took a turn for the mild tonight and I though I'd have one last go. The last couple of times have been pretty much a blank but tonight I have what I think is Blair's Shoulder Knot and is for now the only record for the whole of Wales on iNaturalist.

I only took this photo so I could type Tortrix pick and mix.
Do you ever take a photo that you hate but don't know why? It's great to have a nice clear underwing shot for reference but I really don't like something about this photo
