Oh dear … my car can’t come home today … George needs two new tyres and some (not too big) bits & bobs done. Luke the  mechanic is chockablock tomorrow but he can sort it out hopefully Wednesday. 🤞 😊

@chicky, The father of a friend is in a care home where they have covid and they banned ALL visitors. I sent him the link you sent me, he took his phone and showed it to reception. They let him in.
    Thank you on his behalf.

Well, if we go back to Shakespeare's days women were played by men and boys so I don't have a problem with women in men's roles but don't think it's appropriate for  soldiers for Henry V's times.

Still, it could have been worse.  They could have sung it like opera!

I'm pretty up for reinterpretation and unless it's integral to the plot an actor/actress should be chosen on their merits not their physical attributes (in all sense) but I do agree that Shakespeare should be largely left alone... We went to see an Othello once that had a night club rave scene? Like... the rest of the play was completely normal, slightly modernised but generally still the same - and then bang! Flashing neon lights, rave music and lots of dancing in the audience. Incredibly odd.

Nothing quite beats a short break away to get home and find your peonies blooming <3 and my dahlias are mostly awake now!

I’m so pleased to be able to help - seems like the new rules aren’t widely known 🙄 and it’s so important for people to continue to have at least one visitor

Could you send me this link too please? I work with people who often need to go into a care home, and being unable to see their relatives is a big concern. It'd be great to give them something concrete to reassure them!

Nearly did a 'Hosta' today @Hostafan1, caught the edge of a dwarf wall with the full watering can, spraying water all over me and accidentally got some water butt water in my mouth. Thankfully I don't think I swallowed any - time will tell!

Have had to water all the pots this evening, including some newly planted roses and other new plants. It hasn't rained here for ages. Whatever happened to April showers.

Morning everyone.  Nice quiet morning here. I’m still knitting squares, but find it really relaxing rather than boring.

We had a lovely visit yesterday from one of our neighbours who lives on the other side of the river. Hubby had mentioned to her husband that I had lots of Thyme plants to give way, so she came with her daughter to get some.  Hubby made a batch of scones for them and morning coffee/tea was enjoyed by all.  I took the ladies out to my veggie patch and introduced them to French Sorrel, flat leaved parsley, oregano, strawberries, onion and garlic chives, etc.,and of course Thyme. They really enjoyed scrounging around.
