Morning all, just having a coffee before attacking daughter's garden again. It's already looking much better so I'm pleased. We're going to be mulching as well @chicky so you are not the only one doing it later than usual. We've actually had rain overnight so ideal conditions.  My daughter has azealas and roses in the same narrow bed so am hoping it's okay to mulch both. That's exciting news about helping at Chelsea for Perennial. I wonder if @Hostafan1 is aware of their assistance for retired gardeners.
Good news for Charlie DD, my grandson is also enduring braces but doesn't seem to mind. I remember when I had had mine on for ages, then asked the dentist to take them off because I wanted to be able to kiss new boyfriend properly (I was all of 16), he promptly told me they weren't doing much good anyway. I was livid!

Glad you enjoyed your break in Cambridge @Punkdoc. Menu sounds good.

Sun's just appeared so better get on.

I don't eat in places like that any more (and when I did it was but rarely).. but it doesn't stop me enjoying the menu ... and using it for ideas for things that I cook ........ it's a bit like looking around an art gallery ... I don't have to take the paintings home to enjoy looking at them. :)

    Good morning everyone.

Rain this morning which has seemed to clear, but the wind has come up.  Good turn out at the polls this morning.  It could go either way @D0rdogne_Damsel and Macron has shifted to the right now!

@Busy-Lizzie  Glad that you are getting out and about.  The pain for your OH must be really intense now - it's so tiring and frustrating, so he's very brave!!
@punkdoc  Fabulous menu - good selection of wines.  I bet you enjoyed yourselves!
@chicky  I'd give you some of our rain, but it's welcome here although everything now is well soaked!  @Lizzie27   I think you'll need the extra day to rest!!

Time for a littles smackerel of something.  Enjoy your Sunday!

I hope Macron wins, LePen is too far right for me. I would have voted if I'd been there, not that it would have made a difference. Dordogne has swung from being left wing to far right.

This trend to the far right across the globe is extremely worrying but this is what late stage capitalism looks like.  Fingers crossed for Macron.
Thanks for liking my tulips @Hostafan1.
Don't forget to take time to breathe @D0rdogne_Damsel!
That menu looks amazing @punkdoc - it would be wasted on me though.  But a trip to the botanical gardens might be on the cards for us at some point.
Well done getting the Chelsea gig @chicky.  It will be fun I'm sure - but tiring.
We're off out this afternoon on a cruise of the local nurseries to deliver some leaflets for the forthcoming garden market here.
And then we might have to get the hose out - no rain and none in the forecast.

Hello all, for everyone needing rain please put in your orders, we have enough for all down here! It's been blowing a hoolie since about six this morning which woke me up, forecast says sunny intervals, don't know where they are looking! Feeling very frustrated as nothing wants to grow or germinate in the GH.
Glad you enjoyed your few days away @punkdoc and especially that menu which would be wasted on me with my histamine intolerance!
Have a good day all, catch up later.

I've had the hose out this morning @didyw ... I've sown some beetroot and watered the seedbed before and after sowing, and the chard and lettuce I planted the other day needed a good drink ... plus all the hostas that are in pots ... I daren't use the water from the butts as OH's blueberries need it and it doesn't look as if they'll be topped up again any time soon ...

Hi everyone,  I have been watering pots and garden too, apparently there's a small chance of rain tomorrow but I'm not banking on it. Enjoy Chelsea @chicky, hopefully you will get time to have a good look round too. I helped man a  Capel Manor stand one year,  the head gardener was very kind to us and we only had to do a 2 hour stint each. It's quite a different experience the other side of the counter. No chance this year though, she has retired,  and they aren't having a stand this time.

It's been cool and wet in Dordogne, so wet that 3 rivers are about to burst their banks. Here in Norfolk it's dry. Lots of sunshine but a nippy wind.

We have been to a Country Show. I enjoyed the ponies and carts and OH enjoyed the digger dancing. We had scampi and chips from a stall and local cider, baclava and Turkish Delight. I bought a mug with red squirrels on it. The battery on OH's mobility scooter ran out about 20m from the car, thank God it wasn't at the bottom of the hill. I pushed him.
