MIL is doing well thanks @Topbird ... she says she's sleeping much better and doesn't feel too bad. Still staying indoors of course, and taking it easy ... but we're not too worried about her now. She can chat on the phone to us without coughing

Afternoon all, Have been out this morning to a local craft warehouse with Bestie. Her granddaughter is making Jubilee bunting to raise money for a trip she is making to Kenya with the school. They are going out to help build a school. She does have a couple of years to raise the funds. She has done well, so far she has raised £700 pounds from a variety of initiatives including making Easter Treats and Christmas decorations. She is off to do a car boot sale this weekend. Our trip out did involve stopping off at a lovely cafe in Wolverley where I enjoyed a really good fish finger, halloumi and sweet chilli jam sandwich. Was too full to have cake which is very rare for me. Came back and watered the garden as everywhere is so dry even established plants seem to be suffering. Glad to hear your mum is doing OK @Dovefromabove
Afternoon all. Another great gardening day and now I really would like it to rain - just a little bit!
T'Bird is it Germany next week? How long will you be away for? I hope you've got all the admin. loose ends tied up and sorted the packing.
Dove, its good to hear that nothing untoward affected your MIL. Your OH will feel specially relieved about that.
Ruby - how many perennials??? That will be you being very busy tomorrow!
Speaking of 'busy', have you enjoyed your reading today Busy?
Yvie, all credit to your Bestie's granddaughter. I'm still trying to get my head around your sandwich! Halloumi and chilli jam yes but I'm not sure about the fish fingers with that combo. I'll take your word for it that it was delicious and obviously filling if you couldn't manage any cake.

Ante and Lily sorry to hear you didn’t rest well. I eventually was up and baked bread but very tired. I went to bed for a few hours this afternoon and feel better for that and washed and dressed. LB it’s been rather chilly here too. I hope we soon have warmer days. I even popped to the chemist in warm winter boots early morning. Chive I hope you all have been able to rest and that mum is taking things gradually and finds your sister distracting. Top bird you’ll be feeling ready now you’ve had your haircuts. I must do mine soon it has grown considerably longer but rather like it. Yvie I think the trip to Kenya will be an interesting experience and hope further funds are raised. I do like fish finger sandwiches. I’m sitting on the sofa with Alfie by my side enjoying a quiet moment with a cup of tea. Busy I’ve only done tidying jobs this afternoon. I hope you’ve all enjoyed your day. Apparently there’s been a large 3 day protest in respect of government cut backs and also the invasion of Ukraine. It stated on the news article I read there were 250,000 people. No doubt it won’t be on terrestrial news. Anyway enjoy your evening.
Had a quiet day. LB, I only read "The Garden" magazine in the end.
We went to Sainsbugs for want of anything better to do. Did need milk though. We had hot chocolate the other night and I'd made a bread and butter pudding.
We are going to see "Blithe Spirit" in a local village hall tomorrow evening.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Busy love b@b pudding and Blithe Spirit. I first saw Blyth Spirit on the tv,with Margaret Rutherford as Madam Arcarte( spelling) .I loved it . LB I have a lot of perennials to plant .All I am saying is that it will take me a long time .😼
RosieBB I'm fresh out of the shower and Lily is asleep at the other end of my sofa. She will only shift now when I go up to bed later,
Busy and Ruby, you just brought back a vivid memory for me! The first Blithe Spirit I ever saw was with Margaret Rutherford in it. She was marvellous I thought. Busy I hope you enjoy it more than you did the Shakespeare the other evening.
I spent time today planting out all the young plants I have been growing on so my border is now full of Verbena bonariensis, Kirengeshoma palmata, Selinum wallichianum, Echinops ritro (Chive the ones you and I got at 'sco. They are still looking a bit titchy but I wanted them planted out) and Brunnera macrophylla. I also planted two Oriental Poppies - Beauty of Livermere - to give a pop of colour. Hopefully I'll get some kind of a display this summer. At least it has freed up some of my pots for my baby Aubrietas and Arabis. I am growing some of these for handy brother's new home.
Ruby, potting those on will be my next job to do.

No Chive, Debs or Hazel today. Chive will have been busy with her Mum no doubt and I guess Hazel and her OH may be removing turf and laying paving slabs for the new bench to rest on. I am signing out for tonight. See you all in the morning everyone.
