I do think Shirley ought to rein in the comments about the men’s physiques tho … if a chap came over all unnecessary about the female dancers’ figures and bare skin there it would be out of order.

I think that the costume designers forget that their job is to make the dancers look good and not show off how clever they are and that can make the competitors more or less appealing to the GBP who vote accordingly.    Neither of the two in the dance off deserved to be there.

Those particular Lion King costumes hid a lot of the movements that make a samba look good but, having said that, I did think there was too much faffing and not enough samba content and the other couple were therefore more appealing to me.  As i said before it's a pity cos Gio is usually such a good choreographer.

As for Shirley's comments, she's been overstepping the mark from early days and, being such an experienced and well respected judge in international dance competion circles as well as having a short time to make her comments would do well to confine them to the dance and the performance.   Physique only matters when one's legs are too long to make jive look easy and fluid.

@Dovefromabove I do agree about Shirley drooling over the 'fit' blokes.  It's quite pathetic really, and you are right that if a male made similar very personal comments about a female celeb there would be hell to pay.  Can you image replacing 'Great abs' in a male with 'Great......' (I'll let you fill in the rest) for the female. :D

A shame to see Matt leave, l think he was beginning to come out of his shell and "get" the Strictly experience. I wouldn't have expected him to go that much further, but in some ways l prefer the quieter competitors like him and Hamza to those who are really OTT .

At the beginning I thought that Ellie S would struggle but I have to say that I am really enjoying watching her every week I even wonder if this year one of the underdogs could win, Ellie/Tony/Hamza? It is after all a popularity vote as far as the public are concerned.

I thought it was time for Matt to go.   It's not as if he isn't used to performing in public so he should have "got" Strictly much sooner but remained wooden.   The footballer has been a surprise, improving weekly in both technique and performance, and Katya is definitely the right professional to lick him into shape.

Loved that Argentine tango and Grazziano's samba and Hamza's salsa which had some proper salsa figures.   Good show all round but they really do need to do something about the lighting.  It makes some of teh dances really hard to see and the professionals' intro dance on the results show was seriously spoiled by it.

I am not enjoying Strictly as much as usual this year.
Though Fleur's Argentine Tango was very good. How on earth was she voted into the dance off last week? I find Hamza's hair so repulsive it puts me off watching his dancing.

Missed Strictly  on Saturday but saw the results show , it was definitely Matts turn to go
I think that some of the Pros dances that open the show have been as good ? Compared to previous years but I’m sure a lot of people will disagree with me

He was apparently born with Poland syndrome which left him without only one fully developed Pectoral muscle. He thanked the wardrobe team for helping him disguise it. But it may have stopped him moving as naturally as he might have otherwise.

@LunarSea - his entire body is wooden and, as far as I'm aware, there are no pecs in neck and arms tho there may be a knck-on effect there but certainly not in his hips or legs.
