Something digging around the roots of my roses. Can someone guess what the animal is ?! I would be grateful for the tips to avoid these digging. Many Thanks in advance.

I haven't noticed very much insect damage this year - including saw fly. Too dry, I'd guess. Only leaf miner (moth) has been having a field day in the apple trees.

May not be many but what there are are tiny needle like stilettos, never fail to pull threads as you brush past and draw blood as you minister to her.
she's a beautiful but ungrateful sod.

If I got a row of these and pruned / deadheaded them at different times, could I get continuous blooms?🤔

I don't know Chandos and am no expert pruner. I would think it, in part, depends on the nature of the cultivar. Some roses bloom in waves and some are more continuous through the summer....
