Something digging around the roots of my roses. Can someone guess what the animal is ?! I would be grateful for the tips to avoid these digging. Many Thanks in advance.Â
Lots of roses looking so lovely - I lost track but Roald Dhal looking fab in various gardens, Boscobel, Rachel, and the creams - I do love a meringue colour.
My unknown cream is having another small flush. Just heavenly. Some petal damage and is longing for rain.
I haven't noticed very much insect damage this year - including saw fly. Too dry, I'd guess. Only leaf miner (moth) has been having a field day in the apple trees.
Yes, Fire, not much wrong with any of my roses and I don't spray... perhaps some roses are a little underfertilised. This blackspot-free in September? Ridiculous.
Chandos Beauty... pure lovely.
If I got a row of these and pruned / deadheaded them at different times, could I get continuous blooms?🤔
...it's a bonus that it doesn't have many thorns...
May not be many but what there are are tiny needle like stilettos, never fail to pull threads as you brush past and draw blood as you minister to her. she's a beautiful but ungrateful sod. Â

I don't know Chandos and am no expert pruner. I would think it, in part, depends on the nature of the cultivar. Some roses bloom in waves and some are more continuous through the summer....Â
