@pitter-patter, beautiful garden as ever, what’s not convincing you about Belle de Jour? I bought it a few years ago, one of two roses out of over 70 that have just died on me. It wasn’t really it’s fault, badly grafted and arrived with botyris but it kind of put me off trying it again.
Hmm, yes I’m pretty sure you have William Shakespeare 2000 there @newbie77, not TP - I think we suspected that might be the case early on? If you recall I ended up with three WS2k instead of one, due to an identical mix-up. The nursery did promise to send me two replacement TPs but since it’s no longer on their list I’m not sure they can deliver..
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@Nollie That’s the problem, I don’t quite know. It’s grown quite tall for the place where I’ve planted it; last year it had a 6 foot random cane. The flowers fade quickly and they are definitely not very scented. However, I’m not planning on removing it, so maybe it will get better in its third year. An earlier photo:
I've just taken a few cuttings tonight, can anyone advise if I need to remove more leaves or should this be ok?
Also, assuming it's a good idea to mist them regularly as with typical cuttings?
Thought I was on my usual hiding to nothing with these cuttings. Pretty much all these leaves died but I was going to leave them regardless on the off chance anything might come of them. Well I'm delighted to say it turns out they're all showing fresh growth, to varying degrees-
Not going to lie, this is much more satisfying when you take them off a parent plant that cost the best part of £30 to buy.
My next question is, should I aim to pot these individually in the next month or so given the obvious growth coming through or should I leave them in this pot until next Spring?
Given this success I'll definitely be taking more cuttings within the next month once the final flush of flowers go over.
My cuttings that I have just potted on are just over a year old. They spent the winter in the cold greenhouse, and then outside since May, so I would think yours need a bit more growth before attempting to move some of them @Dirty Harry

Same here, Lizzie. Bordure Camaieu, Chandos Beauty, Enchantress, Jacqueline du Pré, Kiss Me Kate, Dainty Bess, Donatello, Notre Dame de Calais, Deep Secret... all out of stock. I can't find a way to filter out the OOS ones. When TW had their sale, they were kind enough to create a special page for the potted ones they still had. It makes sense to help rapacious rose-fiends part with their money, surely.
I'm looking at 'Pearl of St Lukes'.
