All the best @Marlorena , and thank you for all your advice. I hope all is ok . That is a statement , not a query requesting an answer! I'm quite envious of those with Chandos Beauty still in bloom , mine started early this year so the second flush crisped to death in the aftermath of the heatwave. Other than the ever-effervescent Julia Child , mine seem to be on a pause generally.Â
Mine are doing the opposite and getting into the swing of an early autumn flush. Making up for lost time over summer and benefitting from an overload of rain!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@Desi_in_London my Chandos was very late to flower as it was a tiny late-planted bareroot this year. My first "flush" (only 4 or 5 blooms) got fried in that heatwave, total horrorshow. Perhaps should transplant it into a pot this winter so it can be moved into semi-shade if we get such incredible weather again next year.Â

@Nollie looks like the rains and lower temperatures have done a lot of good to your roses. Here they are still recovering, having had only a few drizzles over the past 2 weeks and being unable to drench them due to the hosepipe ban. Here is a lost-label HT rose that has revived quickly, but the blooms shatter rather quickly too.

@Nollie I I see that your roses recovered well with some more rain. Mari Antoine is stunning and you also reminded me that sooner or later I have to get Astronomia.
Here no rain, but it’s forecast in the next days and .i hope very much that’ll be true, because we too ha ve hosepipe ban and my plants are all in poor conditions at the moment.
