A few pics from today of my only semi-decent looking roses atm (it’s all about the hydrangeas taking over for a while here). Although some of my roses do have new buds ready to open soon. Â
Snow Goose (with lots of new buds to open). Just noticed something’s started eating the leaves on it, no idea what though?Â
The standard ‘Polar Star’s’ (a mixture of older flower heads about to drop but with new buds opening too)Â
The newest member, ‘Twice In A Blue Moon’, covered with some dusty water I think from the window cleaning this week 😬…she still looks a little bit sorry for herself:
There is a new foal in the field above my garden. Cuteness overload. I had to climb on the wall to take these photos, so I also took these two, of the garden from there.
Thanks for the info on soaking hose @Veilchenblau. Once I have some budget, I will look at getting one to start with. I need really long length or may be I will join some short ones. Do you move them around to different areas or keep at situ?Â
@edhelka, lovely, they look like unicorns. Love the little one and enjoyed the photos of your garden from wall.Â
@newbie77 I normally keep in situ with pegs in places but we have moved it to incorporate newer trees this year as the established shrubs do not need it as much.Â
I inherited this as 'Gentle Hermione' but always had some doubts about her identity... Here with noID HT Geranium 'Azure Rush', 'La Belle Rouge', noID HT in the background 'Paul Noel' 'Chippendale' with lobelia and bacopa background 'Kiss me Kate' year 2... that basal makes me happy
The Lady of Shalott this evening. She never stops blooming. ETA: love those little teal obelisks, edhelka. Covet one for the front garden (but it would probably get nicked)
How lovely to be able to watch that little rocking horse @edhelka . Great you took the chance to share photos from that vantage point, you have more roses in full colour than me, lovely, particularly Paul Noel which I covet.
@newbie77 I have 3 soaker hoses permanently winding through borders. I just unroll and pull the main hose (tap connected) to connect each in turn. 2 are 15m Hoselocks that work perfectly along their whole length, the third is 25 m and drips less at the extremity, it was an unknown brand from Waitrose Garden in 2019 and I think it is the porosity of the hose, not the length, at fault. I too peg in place at first but to make it easier to lay I unroll it on the lawn in the sun before trying.

I think Mme. Isaac Pereire is best in a spot where it is shaded from the afternoon/strong sun.Â
