@WhereAreMySecateurs, my abraham darby was very rusty last year. I pruned it hard and kept away from other roses for rest of the summer.

Then in Autumn I took it out of its pot (there were some vine weevils in there too!). Anyway I cleaned it up thoroughly and re potted it with fresh soil. It has no sign of rust so far this season. AD is not known for good health and it may develop rust later but Deelish have been so healthy for me that I have a feeling, it will come out of it for you.

Thanks, newbie, I'll do that (leper treatment, fresh soil). Lucky you with Abraham Darby BTW! That one seems to take the most gorgeous pictures. Is it very different in colour from Evelyn in real life?

Abraham Darby is very similar to Evelyn in colour. Both very fragrant but have different kind of fragrance.

I wouldnt have changed soil but after seeing vine-weevils there was no choice.

Hello folks, lovely roses all round.

Quick query, I've run out of my granuler rose feed, could I use up some granuler ericaceous feed instead? Is there much difference between the two? We have alkaline soil.

Thanks. I try to keep the mess out of photos, obviously :) but there's a lot of deadheading that needs to be done.
For example, 'Amazing Day' has blooms going over, rain damage, and looks like sawfly larvae had a feast on it.

@Athelas I think that 'Mileva'/'Renee van Wegberg'/'Ava'/'BOZmilefra' is worth having just for the fragrance. But I don't want to review it yet because I have it in a too small pot, I neglected watering when it was dry and as a result, it has BS. I need to repot it to see how it does when happier.

Thanks, newbie, useful info. I spent this morning wishing my camera were good enough to capture Tranquillity's beauty (all those layers of lemon and vanilla icecream). Think Evelyn might be the one so lovely as to make me buy a good camera next year.

..yes it's ok to do that, I use it sometimes as well, providing the potassium - the K part, is higher than the N part, or no worse than equal..  you don't want the N too high..

Thanks @Marlorena, I didn't want to take the car out just to get some more rose feed and I have a whole boxful of the ericaceous stuff which I only bought for my potted camellia. I'll check the proportions.

@Tack I am sure with time that Cutie Pie would be more productive..

@Victoria Sponge you are welcome to take it.. I will be happy, knowing that someone will take care of my rose.. I will be leaving behind Super Trooper as well (whenever I move from the current place).. A new for me which I got via a random Youtube post... waiting for it to open.. but from what I heard, it does not have any fragrance..
