lovely roses everyone.. been raining here on and off.. more dead heading.. most of my roses will be in bloom when I am away next week with nice warm weather as well
@Athelas Its my first year with Natalija and Lily (Theo clevers).. both are floriferous for me.. Natalija has a strong fruity scent but Lily has a mild-medium scent.. Interstingly I felt that the scent of Lily comes out better once the flower has been opened for 2 days atleast.. Flowers stay on the Lily for long periods with no usual problems of discolouration, but they tend to flop as they are produced as huge clusters on the end of long canes.. I would love to keep it (for the amount, colour which tends to change at the centre, shape of flowers-has a buttoned centre and cannot see stamens even when fully flat) but scent is a main factor for me..
@edhelka if this is your garden in mess, wonder how it would look when its not..
I feel all of you should open your gardens to National Rose Garden scheme (just made that up).. but seriously, if someone cannot make it to, say DA gardens, they can find inspiration from many gardens here.. I think I have said this last year as well when @Marlorena posted her garden pics..
@edhelka@Victoria Sponge lovely gardens. Love Stephanie d'Ursel, The Bishop, just to name a few . Actually, I am happy that I can see all these roses, as if they are in my garden, through these photos. Someone should invent a (virtual) way in which we can enjoy the smell of these roses over internet! Keep sharing your photos.
@Athelas Roald Dahl is gearing up for the next flush, here too.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
I've got Cutie Pie Cooldoc, it really is tiny, you have to get really close to see what it is! A novelty that I doubt I'll keep but fun. I even bought it a mini matching pot
Lovely gardens @Victoria Sponge and @edhelka. I like the whole atmosphere of your gardens. There is an all natural lush look so magical.
Pat Austin, a no id Red and Sunshine Babylon Eyes. The sunshine one does get pink as it fades but since it is near For your eyes only, they sort of go together.
Oh that minirose is adorable. Victoria, amazing garden. I would love to visit so many of your gardens and sit and look as well as swipe cuttings, of course.
Edhelka you have many roses I either have, or have on pre-order. I hope to grow them half as well as you!
Lavender Lassie- wonderful clusters of fresh, dainty blooms.
Boule de Neige has little pink spots from yesterday's rain and is now Variegata di Lutona.
Also... got impatient and popped a hanging basket fuchsia to see which one it was. Does anyone else do that?
Well so much for saving a Waltz Time from the wax of death ( 😡 to DIY places) This is not Waltz Time! 😆 I wonder what I do have.🤔 It's a very pretty yellow, quite rich in colour with just a touch of pink/red. Can't wait for it to open.😁
Peter Beales finally got back to me about rust-riddled Dee-Lish and say they're going to replace it, thank goodness... I would like to put her where intended. Should this one go in the garden waste bin, be burnt or can it be derusted somehow over the winter?
