Another of my new roses to have made a good start, Princess Anne (not PAOK as I said last time I posted it ) It is actually more mauve than it looks here, a really interesting matte colour (if that makes sense) with a yellow under-glow. Front garden scene. I dug Countess of Wessex out of this border yesterday not that you could have seen it. It was just sad and weak, and there are so many roses that want to live, it just seemed pointless wasting energy. Another waste-ling here is the mildew infested Evelyn Fison (red, front). I've already ordered its replacement  Think the harvest festival theme is starting to fade to an apricot fluff, wonder if I need to add a strong pumpkin orange.
Year 2 Leda (sorry about the glare in first pic) with a glimpse of Crown Princess MargaretaÂ
Sorry for the bombardment but I only get weekends in the garden at the moment, and I did promise to post more photos this year.
Blush Noisette warming up for a power flower Stood on tip-toes to get a good shot of Gallica officinalis but I haven't done it justice, lovely glowing plant. Year 2 Leah Tutu, I think @pitter-patter has this rose too. I'm glad I have it on this path edge as it is a pleasure to look at it.
What size pot do you think would for city of york? I wanted to plant it in the ground to climb up the front of the house but I’ve just discovered it’s all concrete for about 50-60cm out!
Strong old rose fragrance. Could be Gertrude Jekyl?: My mum says she bought this one as moonlight, but it does not look like the hybrid musk. Minimal fragrance: Also has minimal fragrance:
@dabolem .. K Harrop should look good with ZD, if your arch is big enough for these two roses.. I think the colours would blend well together, and they are effectively the same rose otherwise... KG with the other 2 roses sounds good too as they have a similar form..
I wouldn't worry about sun for your Rhapsody in Blue, I think purple/bluey roses look better in some shade, the colours stand out more.. I have a purple rose with only few hours sun, and it does very well there..Â

Poor Eglantyne…too short for a vase, but I suppose I could use a bowl.
The Mill on the Floss - actually doing something this year:
It's 'Parkdirektor Riggers', a Kordes rose.
