………..and this could be why politics should be avoided on a gardening forum.
I wasn't talking politics but commenting on a programme that has become headline news. I was also careful not to make a categoric statement,  but have since seen the Panorama programme and that confirmed my belief.
Next you'll be saying we can't comment on the reversal of the ban on metaldehide slug pellets as being politics and  not gardening enough.

    🙄. Your point is?
I'm sorry that you're clearly too stupid that you need everything explaining.

Sorry, my comment was not aimed at you.
I have said before, and I will say it again. Politics can be an emotive subject for some. Whilst most posters can discuss the topic in a calm/mature way others cannot seem to discuss the subject without resorting to throwing personal comments towards others (these post seem to of been removed), hence my comment, which then got a comment thrown at me. I am not sure why individuals feel the need to make comments about posters rather than the topic being discussed.

There have been other topics discussed on here when feelings have run high and, to the best of recollection, quite a few slightly more personal comments have been slung. It’s all eventually calmed down, storms in tea cups, without lots of people having their posts pulled for even veering towards that subject.

Why the sudden heavy handed approach?? Ah well, we mere mortals will never know.

You are doing a good job of confirming my point that some people cannot have a mature discussion about something without resorting to insults.

Can we please have some humanity and treat other posters with respect even if, or especially when, we disagree 😊

This forum has survived and indeed thrived for many years, without the need for heavy handed interventions. Politics has been aired, and if necessary posts removed, without the need for blanket bans.
We are at risk of just encouraging blandness, and the loss of some established posters will lead to a loss of the expertise which sets this forum apart.
