The loss of AQOS - after decades of gentle humour and good quizzing, it went lad'ish and has now been dropped. What a waste of a good prog that had entertained (and I'm no great over all sports fan) millions.

I have read just today that the programme hasn't been axed for good and the BBC have admitted they have made a mistake by changing it. They will bring it back in maybe a couple of years  and will be reverting to the old format.

I liked the old-style AQOS even though I hardly ever knew any of the answers, not being a sport fan. I quite liked Top Gear in the old days too, before it got completely daft.

Top Gear didn't work with Paddy McGuinness and the other new guys, so why did the powers that be think using him to front AQOS would work?

One assumes they are not the same eejits that thought doing a Top Gear makeover on GW was a good idea.  That or they are really slow learners and should be relieved of their posts.

I too used to watch Top Gear when it was about cars and other vehicles rather than just stupid stunts and we'd watch QofS from way back too even tho I rarely watch sport on TV.  It was good fun but lost the plot when they changed it to "attract a younger audience".  Clear failure.

"To attract a younger audience" as the reason for change should send a shiver down the spine of whoever is chosen to present the show.  The BBC still seems to fail to grasp the fact the the 'younger audience' doesn't watch terrestrial TV.

It reminds me of when my daughter was little, the TV  channels would show c%%p programmes and cheap adverts on a Saturday  night
It never occurred  to them that people with money to spend might have been let down by a babysitter or even fancied a night in.

I put the Xmas tree up this afternoon, checked the lights and decorated it.

OH went to switch the lights on just before dinner - no lights! He's checked the fuse which is ok. I can live without lights.
