    I've just spent a relaxing hour  picking weeds ( mostly grass and michaelmas daisies) out from the nooks and crannies of the bearded iris rhizomes. Satisfying in the very short term but ultimately pointless.

    Thanks @Kili. I will give it a try. Is the SSD drive easy not familiar with them.

    @Allotment Boy

    I don't know how old your laptop is it would have to be quite an old laptop if its using the much older IDE hard drive connector it would be difficult to install an SSD drive. There are adapters one can purchase but its all about the space available to add in a connector. If you had a desktop no problem but laptops ...

    However if you have a SATA connector, they started appearing in computer hardware about 2003 so its likely you have a SATA connector if your laptop was purchased new about 2005 onwards
    That's why its important to use the Crucial scanner to determine which model and drive connector you have and it will recommend the right SSD drive for your laptop if its capable of supporting the SATA connector. Depending on which laptop you have it can be quite easy to replace it. Then you can install Windows 10 using the Windows 7 serial number . You will need the OEM serial number for the Windows 7 installation that came with your laptop.

    Which make and model laptop is it?

    The Home Office is not, in any sense, fit for purpose.  It has become a law unto itself. Keir will have to take it in hand when the time comes …

    Been with octopus energy 4 years plus. Last year added solar panels. DD £60.50 a month. Summer we made an average of £80 export a month. Nicely in credit. Bill 1/10 Gas £10, electricity £21, (pretty much made up of DSC) export £32, therefore you owe us 00,AND wait for it:  "You will need to increase your DD in order to cover future bills, therefore with effect from 1/11 we will be taking £106,why I we doing this". Then there was a link. Opened it.....to cover your future bills!!! Hubby has attempted to email, not going through, means I am going to have to phone....we are in credit to the tune of one years payments!!!

    "Why not just email to adjust your direct debit", you can't!!! It's now £109 and a few pennies. Tried ringing "we are experiencing very high call volume et al,why not check out our website and email us"

    Our large (380 l ) waterbut has sprung a leak again 🤬 I repaired it in summer,  its never been completely full since due to lack of rain. Finally got  rain last night now it's spurting water from base, or was.  I have just spent an hour bailing it out and watering everywhere that didn't get that much last night  we have filled every container we can for later in the week when it's set to get warm and dry again.

    BTW @kili I will send you a pm re the laptop don't want to tie up this thread with computer talk.

    @Allotment Boy have you tried self adhesive flashing tape to seal the leak.  It seems to work on most things.
