And those lovely folk who change their mind and just leave chilled stuff wherever they happen to be. Perfectly good food, straight into a skip

    Indeed @Hostafan1. Scum.
My daughter works with the hot food, and when they get snotty customers [the self entitled ones usually] they often just dump the pizzas, or whatever, somewhere because they get the hump at having to wait twenty minutes, despite being told that right at the start. Like spoilt four year olds.
No wonder their kids turn out to be a***holes as well.  :|

In our local M&S food hall yesterday.  None of the manned tills open and a queue to use the self-service.  I was very tempted just do dump the basket and walk out.  In the end I did walk out but only after putting everything back on the shelves.  Next time it happens I may well just dump the basket.

If shops are there to make money, surely the priority should be to facilitate payment. Maybe it's my age, but I very often walk out of shops when I see the length of the queue or I'm waiting for them to deal with multiple online returns. In a food shop, I'm inclined to dump my basket or the perishable trolley contents in an open freezer. The food isn't spoilt and I have my freedom.

If a supermarket fails to supply enough staff to man the tills so customers can pass through without queuing more than 5 deep I walk out.   As a contributor to their profits and wgaes I expect decent service and that does not involve scanning my purchases on a device nor waiting longer than I feel reasonable.

What happens to what's in my trolley is their problem.

Having said that, I've never had a problem in France and only once in 25 years in Belgium but Safeways and Tesco's were sinners in the UK.

Last week we went to the Eden project with daughter,  the queue for ice cream was so long,  she’s been to every country in Europe and said this only happens here.
Didn’t someone once say the British were known for their queuing,  they love it!

There are many things I'd wouldn't queue for ( actually most things). Ice cream is one of them.

I must have been born in the wrong country because I absolutely hate queueing.  In future I'm going to check that they have a staffed till open before I start shopping.

You certainly have no love for the UK, @Obelixx, can you think about anything good to say about us?
How can you lie there and think of England

I see some things haven't changed since the handy ignore button was pressed.
