Us too, @Ergates. Our nearest neighbours are 200 metres away and we get on with them fine. Their predecessors were awful bullies, but it didn’t matter at all at that distance. Trying to find a house with a smaller, flat garden, but still big enough to maintain a small distance from neighbours, in case we’re unlucky with them. Obviously that means nothing under 35 or 40 years old. Still not fancying it though. The thing is, the longer we leave it, the harder it will be to do it.
I’m liking the idea of checking them out first. Just wondering how many nasty people would give themselves away after a quick chat though.
Carmarthenshire (mild, wet, windy). Loam over shale, very slightly sloping, so free draining. Mildly acidic or neutral.
I got called out on a job yesterday and didn't have time for lunch so I found myself browsing the sandwiches at Tesco. Some women was trying to get her son, about 10yrs old, to hurry up and choose a sandwich. She'd already started hers before paying and was loudly talking with her mouth full while still picking up sandwiches to offer to him. I miss the time when people had to wear masks and keep their distance from me She wasn't the only person wandering about while eating either. It must be horrible for the people on the checkouts having to handle the used wrappers when they need to scan them (assuming they bother paying).
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
I can assure you that many people don't get as far as paying for them at the checkout. The abandoned wrappers of all sorts of items are regularly found on shelves....
All of us honest people are paying for those dirty parasites' dishonest behaviour. It's theft - plain and simple. Same as shoplifting. We all pay for that too, because the prices go up to cover it. No shop can keep absorbing it long term.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
