Isn't that odd @Hostafan1 - as isn't part of the character of ancient sites, and of 'value' to historians,  the graffiti left at places such as Pompeii.
Is defacing something that's already ancient different? Personally, I think all graffiti is naff...

@steveTu for me there is a massive difference between graffiti from the time the buildings were in use, and the mindless vandalism of some cretin carving their name 2000 years later.

The original Pompeii graffiti was the equivalent of posting on facebook now, or putting up posters a few years ago - messages, political statements, even records of debt, etc. Not 'Gaz woz ere', which would tell us a great deal less

Oh ‘eck @wild edges … which one … or both?  I remember I came down with it on the first day of the school summer holidays 😞
He/they’ll be flippin miserable … I remember I was. I was about 9 years old … I was in bed for what seemed like an age … the GP came to visit (those were the days) and I didn’t even feel like reading. 😢

If it wasn't for the rash you wouldn't know he's ill. I wanted to send him to school today. Good thing his mum is more sympathetic :#  His little brother tends to be more of a drama queen though so we'll see what happens if/when he picks it up.

It's cool (ish) and cloudy with a light breeze.  Perfect gardening weather.  However I've had to stay clean this am for the weekly shop and am about to go and see a man about my eyes so need to stay clean.

With any luck I'll be home by 4pm and able to get down and dirty for a few hours before dinner.

Good luck with that @wild edges.  Hope it stays simple and passes quickly.
